Download help

  1. Register as a subscriber. Avoid spaces and higher ASCII codes when choosing your username and password, and be sure to make a note of them for future reference.
  2. To download a volume or a portion of a volume, click on the article or issue of interest and a dialogue screen will appear. Fill in the appropriate information and click OK. Downloading will then begin.
  3. Usually computers add the files to your folder My Download Files, but you can always choose any other location.
  4. When using a normal modem and telephone line, downloading a complete issue of POD@RCIS usually takes about ten minutes. Do not disconnect if your computer's download manager (this automatically pops up on your computer screen to indicate time remaining to download) is not finished, or your files will be incomplete (e.g., will lack photos).
  5. POD@RCIS is presented in PDF format. To read this format you need the Acrobat Reader software. This program is available free of charge via the icon on our site or go to http://www.acrobat.com Acrobat Reader is available in many languages, ranging from Dutch to Chinese. This does not refer to the language of the POD@RCIS website, but rather those of the help functions in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
  6. After installing Acrobat Reader, that arrives in zipped format (click on the icon and it installs itself), a simple click on any PDF file is enough to immediately make the text and pictures visible on your screen. Your Internet browser can be adjusted to recognize PDF files. This will allow you to read these types of files directly in your browser (if they come in Fast Webview), rather than having to click on the downloaded files separately.
  7. PDF text and pictures can be printed without any problems.
